This report provides businesses and their advisors with a detailed insight into the Irish Competition Authority’s economic analysis of mergers. The report provides a detailed economic analysis of 31 key merger decisions of the Authority over the period from July 2003 to December 2010. The cases analysed include all 21 cases that involved a full (Phase 2) investigation along with a further ten cases that were cleared following a preliminary (Phase 1) investigation. The report also includes an economic analysis of the EU Commission and EU General Court decisions in respect of the proposed Ryanair/Aer Lingus merger. |
